Not at all! Rubber Mulch serves to protect your soil, insulating it all year round. And Rubber Mulch will never steal water or nutrients from the soil, unlike wood mulch.

How does Rubber Mulch affect weeds?

Rubber Mulch works to keep weeds out! While weeds may use wood mulch to germinate, they certainly cannot grow in rubber! You can look forward to a reduction of annoying weeds in your garden.

Will Rubber Mulch fall apart, disintegrate, or decay?

No. The vulcanizing process that all tires undergo renders them basically indestructible. Since Rubber Mulch is made of 100% tire rubber, it will never decompose or crumble.

How does the cost of Rubber Mulch compare with other surfacing options?

In the long run, Rubber Mulch will save you money. After an initial investment that may be more costly than wood mulch, Rubber Mulch will never need to be replaced for a lifetime.

Is Rubber Mulch hard to maintain?

Maintaining Rubber Mulch is simple! Sticks or other debris can be easily removed with a leaf-blower or light raking, and weeds have a harder time growing in rubber.

Do Rubber Mulch chips generate an odor?

No. Any odor detected at the time of installation will shortly disappear, much the way odor attached to a new shower curtain would.

Is Rubber Mulch dangerous for children or pets?

Rubber Mulch is completely non-toxic, including the paints used for our colored versions. If a piece is accidentally ingested, it passes straight through the digestive tract of humans and animals.
